Automated folding stairs to assist individuals that have difficulty entering/exiting large tractors brought to you by the University of Arkansas AgrAbility Project.

Folding Tractor Stairs

·      Reduce risk of fall
·      Allow older/disabled farmers to be more active for a longer period
·      Act more like “stairs”
·      Can work on many different tractors
·      Conveniently fold out of the way

Our Folding Stairs will allow farmers to feel safer when entering/exiting their tractors.

How can this help you?

The folding tractor stair system helps individuals to remain active on their farms regardless of certain disabilities, injuries, or age.

The typical angle of a tractor ladder is approximately 80˚ and the first step as much as a foot and a half off the ground.  Our stair design cuts this angle by almost half, utilizing a much friendlier 52˚ slope.  In addition to angle, the height one would need to surmount to get in and out of the tractor has been reduced by over half, to a mere eight inches above the ground.  This results in:

·         Lowers Exiting Impacts
·         Easier Entry
·         Reduces Falling Risk
·         Improves Peace of Mind
·         Increases Independence

Lightweight and Compact

The automated folding tractor stair system conveniently folds up within the preexisting space between the front and rear tires, where the ladder would normally reside.

The stairs only extend 14 inches away from the body of the tractor during its folded position in order to prevent it from getting hung up or coming into contact with objects during operation.

The staircase consists of high strength, anti-slip aluminum that maintains strength while weighing only ten pounds.

Economic Considerations

The total cost of the entire system is approximately $750

Note: This can change depending on the tractor that is it being modified based on bracketing and size.
