Spring-Pulley System

Picture
The bump gate is pulled closed by a spring pulley system.  The springs are stretched when the gate is open, and the tension in the springs closes the gate.  These springs are sized to provide enough force to close the gate without closing to quickly for your vehicle to clear it.

Solenoid Powered Gate Latch and Signal Light

Picture
A solenoid that is activated by a remote control lifts up the tongues of the gate latch, allowing the gate to be bumped open.  The latch remains open for approximately eight seconds (the timer can be adjusted for your needs).  When the lifting plate comes in contact with the microswitch, it turns on the halogen strobe light, letting you know that it is safe to bump the gate.  The tongues can also act independently, so when the bolt lifts with the front tongue while swinging closed, the back tongue remains stationary and stops the motion of the gate.

Solar Panel

Picture
To maintain the life of the gate's battery, a small solar panel continually recharges they system.  Barring a lack of sunlight unable to reach the panel for over two weeks, the battery will remain charged indefinitely.

Bump Pads

Picture
Two vertical bump pads prevent your vehicle from damaging the gate and the gate from damaging your vehicle.  These bump pads are positioned in the optimal bumping area of the gate.
